These Kids Wear Crowns’ playlist

These Kids Wear Crowns haven’t been able to sit still since the launch of their album Jump Start last year.

The pop-punk 6-piece troupe from Chilliwack, BC have rocked stages from Toronto to Singapore and this Sunday, they’re heading to the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards.

The boys’ vibrant cover of Whitney Houston’s hit “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” is up for Post-Production Video of the Year.

“We just had to cover it. We love the song, the energy and the music video,” lead vocalist Alex Johnson says of Whitney’s award-winning tune.

“We like doing covers,” he adds. “It keeps it original and makes things fun for us.”

And in the name of fun, These Kids Wear Crowns put together a little playlist of other cover-worthy tracks.

.

Lazy Song – Bruno Mars

“This one’s really fun.”

.

Rockin’ in the Free World – Neil Young

“Great message. Great sound.”

I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers

“Alan wants to sing this one to his girlfriend.”

.

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones

“Timeless.”

.

Baby – Justin Bieber

“Simply catchy.”

The 2012 MMVAs air Sunday, June 17. Keep up with These Kids Wear Crowns on twitter and facebook.
