The girl gets around.

Soaring between Vancouver, Toronto and LA, Ali checked in with an inside look at 5 staple tunes on her current playlist.

.

Human Nature – Michael Jackson

“Do I even need an explanation? Recently, I went to Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour show by Cirque du Soleil, and was completely blown away. I cried twice. I fell deeper in love with his music and was inspired by his message of hope for humanity.”

.

Moonlight Serenade Glenn Miller

“One of my all time favourite songs. It’s in the Top 5 for sure. Glenn Miller has always been close to my heart because his music reminds me of my incredible Nanny (Grandma). I listen to the 40s when I’m driving in LA and it shifts my mood from irate to calm within seconds. I also pretend I’m in Hollywood in the 40s and practice my Katharine Hepburn impression. Never a dull moment in my car!”

.

Touch Me – Spring Awakening (Original Cast Recording)

“I went to musical theatre school for two years and am a proud musical theatre geek. If you ever need a fantastic musical theatre playlist – look me up! Spring Awakening is one of the many soundtracks I know every word to and fully belt out when no one else is home. Touch Me is a gorgeous song, brilliantly performed by the cast.”

.

You Da One – Rihanna

“In terms of pop music, Rihanna really is the princess. If I wanna shake my booty or stay motivated on a long run, Rihanna is my girl. ‘You Da One’ is fantastic and her collaborations with Drake are also stand out.

.

VCR – The xx

“My younger brother introduced me to the band a year ago, but I didn’t become a fan until recently. I can listen to ‘VCR’ on repeat, like a teenager, for hours. I associate this song with a very golden time in Toronto, walking in the crisp air with the sun on my face.”

Bomb Girls: Facing the Enemy premieres on Thursday, March 27 on Global.
