No labels for Neil Young’s new album Americana

On June 5, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will release Americana, the band’s first album in 9 years.

The forthcoming record is a collection of classic American folk songs including “Clementine,” “Oh Susannah” and “God Save the Queen.”

Now whether all the tunes and their origins are actually “folk” is debatable. Neil has never been crazy about labels.

“All the handles and everything for all the different kinds of music, that’s all somebody else’s thing,” Neil says. “It’s all music to me.”
