Meaghan Smith’s playlist
It’s been all flowers and warm embraces for newcomer Meaghan Smith at the 40th Annual Juno Awards.
Meaghan won the Juno Award for New Artist of the Year, and well-deserved too. Meaghan’s debut, The Cricket’s Orchestra, did cause a stir upon its major-label release and it was only a matter of time until the whole country would catch on.
Meaghan’s credits her musical upbringing and early 20th century music as influences. She also expresses gratitude to DJ Kid Koala and the role he played on the album.
Before commencing plans to top her award winning debut, Meaghan shares five tracks, “in no particular order,” she says. “As my playlists change daily.”
Where I’m From – Digable Planets
Lazy Bones – Leon Redbone
Viva la Vida – Cold Play
Oceania – Bjork
Is You Is Or is You Ain’t My Baby – Louis Jordan
