Nina Dobrev’s blood bath keeps running

NinaDobrevAnother blood-soaked chapter is about to be added to The Vampire Diaries.

The CW’s highest-rated series returns for a 6th season of 22 episodes and the event has everybody’s heart racing.

“I have to pinch myself every morning to see if I’m actually living, breathing, if this is my life,” says the show’s star Nina Dobrev.

The Bulgarian-born, Toronto-raised 25-year-old has been playing the dual role of doppelganger vampires Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce since the Diaries’ start in 2009.

Ninas solid performance has won her an ever-growing fanbase and the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress Fantasy/Sci Fi for five consecutive years now.

Among other honors, Nina charmed her way into scoring this year’s People’s Choice Award for Favorite On-Screen Chemistry with Diaries’ co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.

This all states the obvious, Nina has come a long way since graduating from her 2006 Canadian television beginnings on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

“That’s a good way to put it,” she agrees. “Like going to college, this is another step, then there’s going to be more steps and I’m going to keep going as I grow and keep getting different roles.”

Outside the Diaries, Nina was recently seen in the comedy Let’s Be Cops with Damon Wayans Jr., and Jake Johnson. The film grossed over 100 million dollars, and even with all this current success and exposure, Nina admits to not having it all that easy in that cutthroat industry.

“For every audition or every part that you do get, there are 100 that you don’t,” she says.

But it’s not like Nina has to worry about that unsettling ratio right now. The Vampire Diaries are coming back again and fans everywhere are thirsty for more.

So what can viewers expect from the highly anticipated season?

The girl’s not talking.

“I swear there’s a sniper somewhere in this room. If I say anything, they’ll kill me on the spot,” she laughs.

There is one thing Nina does guarantee.

“A bloody mess is going to ensue.”

The Vampire Diaries season 6 premieres on Thursday, October 2 on the CW and on CTV Two in Canada. Click on your network of choice for showtimes.
