Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort can’t wait for new Imagine Dragons album
The countdown is on. Imagine Dragons’ new album is coming.
The Las Vegas rockers are busy laying down the finishing touches to Evolve, the follow-up to their multi-million selling albums Smoke + Mirrors and Night Visions, expected out on June 23.
Among the hoards of fans anxiously waiting is Toronto-born actor Laura Vandervoort.
The star, best known for her role as Supergirl in the CW’s hit series Smallville, is excited about the new music the band is about to drop, but the self proclaimed groupie is even more juiced up about Imagine Dragons’ upcoming tour dates.
“They’re amazing in concert,” Laura says. “I love them. The nicest lads you’ll ever meet.”
Imagine Dragons will kick off their Evolve Tour on September 26 in Phoenix, Arizona with stops in major Canadian cities including Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Quebec City and Montreal. The band is also scheduled to take the stage at the 2017 iHeartRadio MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto.
As for Laura, right now she actually has a countdown of her own.
Fans in the Ottawa area can catch Laura at the Ottawa Comiccon on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14.
“Interacting with fans is always great fun,” Laura says of the convention circuit. “I try not to miss an opportunity.”
Supporters and horror enthusiasts everywhere can then see Laura in the forthcoming addition to the Saw movie series Saw:Legacy set for release this fall.
“I love horror movies and I love gore,” she gushes.
Until last year, Laura got her fix playing the lead werewolf in the three seasons of the Space channel’s original series Bitten. Judging from the bloodbath that is the Saw franchise there is no doubt Saw: Legacy has hit the spot just right.
Ottawa Comiccon runs Friday, May 12 through Sunday, May 14. Laura appears on Saturday and Sunday. For more info click here.
Saw: Legacy hits theaters, Friday, October 27.
