Nick Jonas’ playlist
When the heck did little JoBro Nick Jonas become such a stud?
Once the boy next door, the youngest sibling of the disbanded Jonas Brothers has turned into a muscle bound hunk.
Soaking with sex and confidence, Nick is primed and ready to show Canada the new him as he makes his return to the MuchMusic Video Awards.
Gold in Canada and double platinum in the US, the single “Jealous” and the wild success of his self-titled album bring Nick back with a nomination for International Artist, his first MMVA nod as a solo artist.
In addition to his pursuit of the honor, Nick nabbed a place among the superstars set to perform at this year’s big event including MMVA co-host Ed Sheeran, Jason Derulo, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd.
The last time Nick took the stage, he co-hosted the annual bash with his brothers Kevin and Joe, and the trio left with the 2009 MMVA for UR Fave International Group.
Backstage, the star got to talking music, the way it’s always been a part of his life and how he grew up exposed to a wide-range of acts.
“We were raised with a lot of variety. Mixing it up and keeping it interesting,” Nick said. “A lot of different artists, a lot of different sounds.”
Recently Nick mentioned that his new R&B vibe draws from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Prince and Frank Ocean. But even though his rock sound has taken an urban direction, his edgy look confirms it. Deep down Nick will always be a rocker and his favorites lay in that genre.
“Neil Diamond is a big inspiration,” he said, “A band out of the UK called The Zutons and Kings of Leon are a big one.”
Here’s a playlist of shiny tracks by Nick’s favorites.
