Canadian folk-pop duo Bellwoods and American pop-rock star Ryan Cabrera have gone where no band has gone before. Not many anyway.

The guys just released their new single “Sin to Get Saved” and the catchy tune’s accompanying visual is a 360 degree virtual reality video.

“Utilizing Virtual Reality for this video is really, really exciting for us,” says one half of Bellwoods Morgan Cameron Ross.

“It’s mind boggling and it catches everyone off guard when they first watch it on their phones.”

Smartphone and tablet users will get the best experience out of this.

Open the video in the latest version of the YouTube app and when it’s ready, move your device around and get a load of this 360 degree scene. It’s like you’re right there!

You can have fun with the video on a desktop or laptop too.

Launch Chrome or Firefox browsers and then use your mouse to navigate. It’s basically like those times you used google maps street view to creep around your neighborhood. Just click, drag and get that 360 view.

As you’ll see and hear, the video and single “Sin to Get Saved” features song co-writer Ryan Cabrera.

“Ryan and I know each other from LA,” Morgan says of their CanAm connection.

“The producer working on Ryan’s latest album, Justin Gray, asked me to write with Ryan for his album, so all three of us sat down in Silverlake and came up with ‘Sin to Get Saved.’”

“Sin to Get Saved” was originally written for Ryan’s upcoming album, but Bellwoods (being Morgan and ex Stars guitarist Alan Snoddy) couldn’t part with the song.

“So it’s out as ‘Bellwoods featuring Ryan Cabrera’ now,” Morgan adds. “And it will also be on Ryan’s full album in a few months.”

Ryan is most famous for his 2004 hit “On the Way Down” and of course for his publicized past relationships with Ashlee Simpson, Elvis’ granddaughter Riley Keough and Audrina Patridge with whom he starred on the 6th and final season of The Hills.

The star recently made headlines for another Canadian association, aside from his ties to Bellwoods.

Ryan was linked to Avril Lavigne when dating-rumors hatched after the two were spotted numerous times together following her split with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.

Bellwoods is getting drilled on the subject of Ryan and Avril’s relationship status, but they won’t entertain or humor the media and curious minds.

“I choose the fifth on such topics.” Morgan says.

That’s sound judgment. It should be all about the music, right? So back to it.

“Sin to Get Saved” comes out right behind the success of Bellwood’s chart climbing hit tune “Live It Up,” and is the latest peek at the band’s forthcoming full length debut expected out later this year.

“The album is almost complete,” Morgan says.

“We keep writing new songs, so we keep adding to it. I feel like it could be a multi-disc release by now.”

Keep your eyes peeled for Bellwood’s debut full length album, but first, watch their 360 virtual reality video for “Sin to Get Saved” here.
