Shenae Grimes-Beech stars in upcoming crime drama

Shenae Grimes-Beech as Annie Wilson, her American breakout role in 90210.

Former 90210 star Shenae Grimes-Beech returns to prime time in CTV’s new police drama The Detail.

After presenting at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs last June, the actor made an appearance in the press room to talk about her new role.

The Detail centers around three different women in different stages of their lives who are all homicide detectives,” Shenae revealed about the upcoming Toronto-made series.

Shenae plays Jacqueline ‘Jack’ Cooper, a street smart detective with razor sharp investigative skills, in all 10 one-hour episodes.

Joining Shenae in the roles of fellow headstrong cops are Coronation Streets Angela Griffin and Saving Hope’s Wendy Crewson.

The Detail also stars David Cubitt previously seen in Bates Motel and TVs Van Helsing, David Ferry of The Boondock Saints, Matthew Edison of The Girlfriend Experience and Ben Bass and Matt Gordon of Rookie Blue.

“My character is the youngest one of the bunch,” Shenae said. “She’s kind of got a sixth sense and sees that something that helps solve the crimes.

While Jack Cooper is a sure-shot on the task force, off the job, Shenae’s character leads one knotty, tangled personal life.

“Shes a little bit of a hot mess,” Shenae laughed, “There’s drama. I’m no stranger to that on TV.”

Before starring in the 5-season Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off, Shenae had a long run as Darcy Edwards in the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, which, like The Detail, was also filmed in Toronto.

Now based in LA where she lives with her husband, singer-songwriter James Beech, Shenae said she is always thrilled to return to Canada and that there really is no place like home.

“I love coming back to Toronto and fans in Canada are amazing. It’s my home, so I appreciate the love so much. I don’t know what good deed I did in a past life, but I’m very grateful for all the love and support.”

Watch Shenae make her comeback to TV in The Detail set to premiere on Sunday, March 25 on CTV and on ION Television in the U.S. Follow Shenae on twitter and facebook for updates.
