X-Files star Mitch Pileggi to appear at Montreal Comiccon
Mitch Pileggi, famous for playing Assistant Director Walter Skinner on The X-Files, is the latest guest to be added to Montreal Comiccon’s celebrity lineup.
The announcement comes on the heels of the cancellation of Gillian Anderson’s appearance due to a conflict in her filming schedule.
“I know Gillian works her ass off, so that doesn’t leave her much time to do other things,” Mitch says of his fellow X-Files star.
Like Gillian, Mitch keeps busy too.
The actor has over 100 film and TV credits to his name, including gigs on Dallas and its 2012 reboot, Grey’s Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, Stargate: Atlantis and Supernatural.
Among many titles that span Mitch’s 30+ year-career, The X-Files is a personal favorite to him. Not only because of the show’s massive success and the millions of devoted fans though. Mitch tells me there’s another reason.
“I met my wife Arlene on The X-Files,” he says. “And our daughter was raised around show, so The X-Files is very special for me.”
Mitch’s other half, Arlene Warren, first worked on the set of The X-Files as Gillian Anderson’s stand-in before earning the recurring role of Arlene, personal assistant to Skinner.
“That was such a long time ago,” Mitch says looking back to 1998. “But with Netflix, you can see those old episodes. That’s what’s cool about The X-Files. We have different generations watching the show. Not a generation, but generations, and because of Netflix, more people are watching.”
Young and old X-Files fans attending Montreal Comiccon will be thrilled to know that Mitch has happily confirmed his attendance at all three days of the event.
“I love conventions and happy to be a part of Montreal Comiccon,” Mitch says.
“It’s great to meet the fans and actors that I have never met before or see actors that I’ve worked with, but haven’t seen in a long time. So, for me to come to these things is pretty cool.”
Montreal Comiccon runs Friday, July 6 through Sunday, July 8. Visit montrealcomiccon.com for passes, artist lineup, schedules and more info.
