Sarah Wayne Callies talks Prison Break
A sixth season of the TV crime thriller Prison Break has been green-lit by Fox and is now officially in the works.
If you watched 2017’s 9-episode revival, then you know everything seems to have been wrapped up with a tight bright bow. So what could possibly happen next?
Even though the new season is in its very early stages of development, I thought I’d ask the series star Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Sara Tancredi, what fans can expect from the upcoming installment.
“I have no idea what will happen,” Sarah says.
“I overdosed at the end of season one, my head was in a box in season three and I put it back on my shoulders in season four. I’m definitely the wrong person to ask. But I can tell you this, whatever they do will be great and I’d love to be a part of it again. Returning for the last season was amazing.”
The fifth season, as you may know, came 8 long years after season four’s finale aired in May of 2009, but it was worth the wait.
There’s that saying, “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Well, Sarah found that to be true and says reprising her role and working with the cast and crew again was exceptional.
“Coming back was like a high school reunion. People have had babies, people have come out of the closet, people have remarried, people are single. To get back together and see what has happened with everybody was really cool.”
At the Television Critics Association press tour, Michael Thorn, the president of entertainment at Fox, told media that he expects all the leads (which would include Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Sarah) to return for the upcoming season, it’s just a matter of scheduling and re-assembling a cast who now all have booming, busy careers.
Now let’s just hope it doesn’t take another 8 years to round them all up.
In a more near future, keep an eye out for Sarah in the upcoming mini-series Unspeakable.
