Francophone star Olivier Dion releases debut English single
Quebecois star Olivier Dion is a success across the province with multiple chart-topping tunes including 2017’s No.1 hit “Only You,” a duet with Swedish pop star Zara Larsson.
Now Olivier is ready to conquer international territory.
So far, the francophone celeb, discovered back in 2012 on the Quebecois TV singing competition Star Academie, can cross France off his list.
Olivier scored a spot on the French version of Dancing with the Stars (finishing in third place) and earned a starring role in the acclaimed live musical comedy Les 3 Mousquetaires (The 3 Musketeers). So, consider France conquered.
Next, Olivier has his eyes set on the anglophone world and released his first English international single “Curious.”
Recorded in London, England, the track brought Olivier together with DJ/producer Daniel Traynor (AKA Grades) who has worked with the likes of Lana Del Ray, Dua Lipa, Khalid and DJ SNAKE.
“Grades and the other producers I worked with were great. They really took their time with me, to find my sound and see where I wanted to go with the music,” Oliver tells me over coffee.
“I’m excited for people to discover ‘Curious.’ The song is a representation of how I want to sound and it’s a good first impression, a taste of what’s coming.”
On its mark and set to chase the promising hit single, Olivier’s full length English album, recorded in London and LA, is expected out in early 2019.
