Our Lady Peace’s playlist
Our Lady Peace is kicking spring off with their fresh record, Curve. This will be the Canadian rockers’ eighth studio album since they banded in 1992.
“I was 17 when I joined the band,” says drummer Jeremy Taggart in mid-flashback.
“You know, I couldn’t get into the bars that we played in,” he laughs.
“I was actually just talking about it with the guys. Half of my life has been in this band. It’s pretty interesting to grow up not just in a band, but on the road and flying around the world.”
Internationally, Our Lady Peace has sold millions since their debut Naveed. At home in Canada the band has been nominated for 20 Juno Awards, won four in top categories and snagged 10 MuchMusic Video Awards. That’s the most MMVAS that any artist has ever taken home.
“That’s nuts!” Jeremy admits. “Those awards are big and heavy. I felt bad about having so much metal just sitting around, so I melted them down into two sets of Bocce balls. Now I entertain the whole neighborhood!”
That’s Jeremy Taggart everyone, always considering the well-being of his public.
Now on a more serious note, here are a few songs that entertain Our Lady Peace.
.
Desolation Row – Bob Dylan
Lovely Allen – Holy Fuck
Oh! The Boss Is Coming! – The Arkells
Resolution – John Coltrane
Sparks – The Who
Our Lady Peace plays a sold out show tonight at Montreal’s Corona Theatre. Their entire Urban Grind Tour is just about sold out. See what’s left here. Curve is out on the streets Tuesday, April 3 and in the US on April 17. Catch up with Our Lady Peace on facebook.
