Sheri Moon Zombie’s playlist
Shock rock king Rob Zombie put music aside once again to deliver more twisted cinema onto the world.
Call to mind his previous projects like House of 1000 Corpses and the Devil’s Rejects. If you’ve seen it, you’ll also remember not sleeping for a week.
31, Rob’s new fan-funded film, is the nightmarish tale of 5 people kidnapped in the days leading to Halloween and held captive in a frightening facility by the name of “Murder World” where they are forced to fight for their lives.
The cast is led by familiar faces including Sheri Moon Zombie and the legendary Malcolm McDowell, who both starred in Rob’s re-imaginings of John Carpenter’s 1979 horror classic Halloween and its sequel.
Wife and muse to Rob, to the world Sheri is an American Scream Queen who launched her film career headlining her hubby’s directorial debut House of 1000 Corpses.
31 marks Sheri’s return to the big screen since her last role in Rob’s 2012 Lords of Salem. Fans watched her play Heidi Hawthorne, a hard-rock radio station DJ who unleashes the spirits of vengeful witches after playing a vinyl record belonging to an unknown band, The Lords.
In the real world, Sheri also loves hard-rock, vinyl records and has an undeniable crush on The Beatles. Her playlist says it all.
Come Together – The Beatles
“The shoop at the beginning grabs me and then my head moves side to side. The groove is so good.”
.
It Don’t Come Easy – Ringo Starr
“It’s Ringo’s best solo song and it makes total sense to me. ‘I don’t ask for much, I only want your trust.’”
.
Happy Xmas (War is Over) – John Lennon
“It’s a song I listen to many times during the holiday season. It’s introspective and heartwarming. Brings me a warm feeling and cheer every time I hear it.”
.
My Love – Paul McCartney
“The first line is ‘and when I go away I know my heart can stay with my love.’ It’s such a connective song for couples that find themselves apart from each other at times. It’s reassuring.”
.
My Sweet Lord – George Harrison
“When I was a kid I thought it was ‘My sweet love.’ I had no idea that it was Lord. It’s such a deep, thoughtful song that evokes such inspiration, hope and love. I can’t get enough of this song, that’s why I saved it for my last favorite pick. It’s a song for all people.”
31 will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray Tuesday, December 20 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Follow Sheri on facebook and twitter for updates.
