Angela Galuppo’s playlist
Angela Galuppo has a flourishing television career. Just this year she’s landed roles in the Syfy acclaimed series Being Human and in the latest police drama Against the Wall.
Angela’s also lent her voice to the popular Assassin’s Creed video games and several animated children programs.
Now the Montrealer is stepping up her game and fronting the jazz/pop fusion band St. Ange.
Before the thought even crosses your mind, know that this is not just another actor-singer crossover. Angela has music pumping through her veins and her talent is innate.
The singer-songwriter also hit the books to back it all up. Angela has an extensive background in Jazz Studies and got her BFA from Concordia University where she was rewarded the 2007 Dr. Oscar Peterson Jazz Scholarship and met her St. Ange bandmates.
The five-piece collective is set to launch their debut album Second Nature on Thursday, November 24. Look for it and see Angela’s playlist right here.

Jesus etc. – Wilco
“No matter how many years pass, this song and album still feels so fresh. His voice, the rolling pulse and its simplicity make it a thing of beauty.”
.
Better Than – Gretchen Parlato
“One of my modern-day inspirations. I love how her voice floats through the song so delicate and subtle yet full of restraint and nuance. The fluttery sparkle sounds don’t hurt either.”
.
Powa – tUnE-yArDs
“Merrill blows my mind! She doesn’t just write songs for us, she takes us on rhythmic and vocaltastic adventure. So cool and so her. Love!”
.
In a Sentimental Mood – Sarah Vaughn
“One of the first jazz songs I can remember hearing. Sarah really taught me how to sing. I’d imitate her like crazy. I must have heard this song 1000 times.”
.
Eternally – Charlie Chaplin
“I know, it’s a bit dated but if you seen The Kid, you get where I’m coming from. I’m all about melodies that stay with people and this one’s engrained in my heart.”
St. Ange launches their debut album Second Nature on Thursday, November 24 at les Jeudis d’Apollo, a monthly soirée held by Apollo l’Agence, an innovative communications/marketing firm based in Montreal. RSVP only. For more info, click here.
