“Marc won’t stop like the paparazzi,” Fergie teased backstage at Toronto’s MuchMusic Video Awards.

Legendary recording artist, Tori Amos, applauded Marc for a stellar interview and invited him backstage on her world tour.

“I wanted to put a face to your phone interview,” she said. “It’s rare I ask people backstage, but you stand out from the pack. You’re good at what you do and your passion comes through.”

It’s that very passion that captivates the public, artists and industry suits alike.

“Several times we’ve been told by our artists about the quality of his interviews,” said a Warner Music Promotions Coordinator. “So it’s no surprise that Marc was the only journalist from Quebec to interview Alanis Morissette.” (Complete testimonials available here)

Since MarcAndrew.ca’s launch on January 28, 2011, this celebrity interviewer has gained access to high profile celebrities including international superstars Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jay-Z, The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Moby, Neil Young, the New Kids on the Block, The Cranberries and cast members of The Twilight Saga and True Blood. Marc has repeatedly scored accreditation to Canada’s top events like the Juno Awards and the MuchMusic Video Awards, where he’s been seated among the nation’s leading sources of entertainment including etalk and Entertainment Tonight Canada.

Marc also stands to be the only journalist from the province of Quebec selected by the Warner Music Group to have interviewed Alanis Morissette between 2008 and early 2012.

The appreciation for Marc’s hard work has spread way beyond the offices of Warner Music.

Groundbreaking recording artist Tori Amos arranged a backstage one-on-one meeting with Marc to praise him for his ambition and dedication after the two became acquainted through a phone interview.

Yoko Ono, Better Than Ezra, Metric, By Divine Right, Lily Frost, Jeff Martin, Sarah Slean and Grammy Award winners Dirty Vegas are among other artists who have expressed their interest in Marc and his independent outlet.

Recording artist Sarah Blackwood of Walk off the Earth, famous for their viral YouTube video cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” endorsed MarcAndrew.ca by headlining the launch party.

Before MarcAndrew.ca, Marc got his start at one of Concordia University’s independent student-run newspaper, where he was elected as Music Editor in 2008.

Within two months, he was scouted by the world’s second-largest record label, Sony Music Entertainment, and offered an interview with American punk rock veterans Anti-Flag.

In no time professional partnerships were created with the other three major labels, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and EMI Group.

From Concordia, Marc moved on to The Gazette, one of North America’s first media establishments, but eventually resigned to launch his independent outlet.

As the first anniversary of  MarcAndrew.ca was approaching, Marc teamed up with l’Agence Apollo, a multi-service firm specializing in marketing, communications, event planning and public relations, to celebrate this milestone. The event took place on January 19, 2012 in the agency’s trendy waterfront loft, le 4ème, in Old Montreal.

The highly publicized event attracted a wide range of sponsors, including Perrier and Loews Hotels, and sold out at admissions.

Over 400 guests were greeted by Marc using new interactive Radio-frequency identification technology supplied by Academia RFID, while Moncton singer-songwriter ZWERG charmed the audience with an exclusive, intimate performance.

Marc’s success sparked the attention of Montreal’s media leaders including The Gazette and Virgin Radio 96’s Kelly Alexander. (Hear Marc interviewed on The Kelly Alexander Show here)

After just one year, The Gazette compares Marc to prominent Montreal media personalities Steven Cojocaru and the legendary Douglas Leopold.
