Amanda Alch’s playlist

The mastermind geniuses behind the best-selling comic book series Bad Kids Go To Hell, Matthew Spradlin and Barry Wernick, now bring you their film adaptation of the same name.

This dark comedy-thriller sees 6 prep-school brats detained in detention on a stormy Saturday afternoon. One by one these rich kids are knocked off by a mysterious force until there’s just one troublemaker left standing.

The cast of Bad Kids Go To Hell includes Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Augie Duke, Ali Faulkner and Amanda Alch.

Amanda is Megan McDurst, a prissy buttoned-up student, who like most in high school, is just trying to blend in.

The Dallas-born actress didn’t have to do very much role research for her character. Amanda reveals that she was inspired by her own high school experience.

“Megan and I had similar personalities. We both were the oddball out. Just like Megan, I was insecure about who I was as a person. Megan uses her studies as a way to define herself, and I used acting,” Amanda explains, pointing out the parallels.

Traveling back and forth to California for auditions didn’t help Amanda’s situation. She didn’t have the opportunity to get to know fellow students and definitely didn’t have the chance to remotely try to be an insider.

“It wasn’t until later that I embraced my individuality and felt confident with who I was.”

No spoilers or details on just how much of a bad kid Megan is, but Amanda does say this.

“There is more to people than meets the eye, and Megan has a little fire and spunk that will be cool to see in the film.”

You’ll be ringing in the new year before you get to see Bad Kids Go To Hell, but you can catch the cast and writers at the New York Comic Con on October 13-16 and get acquainted with Amanda through her playlist.

.

Something – The Beatles

“My favorite song by my favorite band. The ultimate heart melter for me.”

.

Build me up Buttercup – The Foundations

“This was the song my parents danced to for the first time. I will never forget that one Valentine’s Day, my dad bought my mom a record player. This was the only track he got to play on it- proving romance is not dead.”

.

Twistin’ the Night Away – Sam Cooke

“I go swing dancing on Wednesdays and this song always gets me moving.”

.

Fly Me to the Moon – Frank Sinatra

“People say I am an old soul. Frank is always playing in my room. His voice has such a richness. My dad used to play ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ when I was a little girl and would remind me that I would one day be deserving of a man who would give me the world in the way that Frank describes. A classic.”

.

 Jason Mraz – Live High

“‘Live High’ is a reminder to embrace life fully. A perfect song to start out my day.”
