David Usher’s playlist
International rockstar David Usher is a citizen of the world, but he calls Montreal home.
“I feel like I’m living in a Hemmingway novel, like A Moveable Feast. A world you don’t expect to exist, but you can find it in a place like Montreal,” David explains.
After attempting to make a home in England, Malaysia, New York and Thailand, the singer concludes that the Canadian metropolis is like no other.
“When I lived in New York I got a certain energy from it in my chest,” he continues. “New York is exciting, but it rattles me at the same time. The energy in Montreal grounds me more and allows me to access different parts of my brain.”
David has praised Montreal time and again. He’s even declared his love for the city through his music.
Take his hit single and fan favorite “St.Lawrence River” and his 2010 album, The Mile End Sessions, for example. The album is dedicated to the charismatic neighborhood where the star lives.
Another testament of David’s fondness of all things Montreal is his playlist, a nod to Montreal-born legend, Leonard Cohen.
