Felissa Rose’s playlist

Felissa was re-cast as Angela Baker in Sleepaway Camp’s 2008 sequel, Return to Sleepaway Camp.

Felissa Rose is celebrating the 35th year of her reign as Scream Queen of the B-movie scene.

The horror icon has been starring in scary movies and has been tightly linked to the genre since she made her debut in the 1983 slasher Sleepaway Camp.

Over three decades later, Sleepaway Camp, now a cult classic, still has one of the most shocking endings in horror film history and talk of Felissa’s debut role hasn’t died down.

The star’s fan following and fame spawned by the sleeper hit film has brought her to horror movie conventions around the world and continues to after all this time.

“It’s all a dream and I feel so blessed,” Felissa says. “Everyday I feel like pinching myself. It’s been very exciting to have a part of my childhood resonate so much with people.”

Felissa was just 13 when she starred in Sleepaway Camp. The actor has since appeared in countless scary movies with highlights like Return to Sleepaway Camp, in which she was re-cast in her very first role, and the upcoming Death House, starring a dream team of horror favorites including Bill Moseley, Dee Wallace and Kane Hodder.

And Felissa says she counts her lucky stars for each production.

“I feel so grateful to be a part of such an incredible genre and the fans of horror are great,” she adds.

From the set of yet another horror production, Felissa sends her playlist.

Close Yet Far – CKY

“Aside from having a close connection to this band, I’ve always been obsessed with this song because of the incredible lyrics ad melody. It’s a song that is so touching, yet not sappy. It’s really powerful in such a subtle way. Chills, baby.”

Walking on Broken Glass – Annie Lennox

“This woman has always been an inspiration to me. Her strength and unique vocal quality have always drawn me to her. This song is so original and really feels so powerful. I love getting up to dance to it. Living boldly is Annie. I love that.”

Rock You Like a Hurricane – Scorpions

“Another classic that fills me with great energy. There is nothing like feeling the power behind a song that makes you feel like you can accomplish anything. I love the Scorpions.”

Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson

“This is my youth. I adore his music. It makes me happy.”

Sailing – Christopher Cross

“Somehow this man can take me away on a trip in my own head and this song is my fave. I really love his music and feel a strong connection to it. It’s very moving and profound.”
