Jack’s Mannequin’s playlist
The release of Jack’s Mannequin’s new album, People and Things, is barely two months away, but frontman Andrew McMahon just can’t wait any longer. And he’s bent on giving fans a preview, a live one.
So Jack’s Mannequin is touring North America, sharing the stage with Weezer, Guster and jumping on the Vans Warped Tour bandwagon for two tour stops in the US.
“I just can’t say enough about my fans,” Andrew smiles. “My fans are a core of people who have been with me for years. Even those who have just come on board are very passionate and dedicated. I want to be passionate and dedicated back.”
Even when acute lymphoblastic leukemia threatened to take his life, Andrew didn’t let that unimaginably dark moment keep him out of the spotlight and away from his fans for too long.
“As soon as I got well enough to do anything, I started touring,” Andrew remembers.
Now while Andrew is touring and performing to ecstatic fans across North America, can you guess what he considers to be a major tour essential? Yup! You got it, his iPod. So Andrew, I’ve got a million dollar question, but do I even need to ask?
“Definitely pop stuff. And on repeat. Like MGMT, when I start, I can’t stop,” Andrew laughs. “Seemingly guilty pleasures, but I never feel guilty about my guilty pleasures because I don’t give a shit what people think.”
