Jonathan Tiersten’s playlist

JonathanTierstenJonathan Tiersten scored big, the same way fellow actor Felissa Rose did.

The pair from Sleepaway Camp found lifelong fame in the horror genre after starring in just one flick.

“To see my first film become a cult favorite is bizarre, but I’m very grateful,” Jonathan says.

JT played Ricky, the protective cousin of Felissa’s flat yet unforgettable character, Angela, and reclaimed his role 25 years later in Return to Sleepaway Camp.

The goofy 2008 sequel that reunited Jonathan with Felissa was green lit thanks to the undying buzz surrounding the 1983 original.

“It amazes me. The fact that it keeps growing every year is just staggering,” he says. “I’m getting calls for conventions, appearances and screenings from around the country, the globe even.

Outside of Camp, JT is also noticed for his role in the 2010 indie horror, The Perfect House, where he was once again cast with lifetime pal, Felissa.

“I play a serial killer,” he says. “And though it was daunting and tricky at times to go to that dark place in my mind, I’ve got to be honest, I enjoyed the heck out of it.”

Here is a playlist of tunes that Jonathan loves to death.

.

Casimir Pulaski Day – Sufjan Stevens

“An absolute staple for me. There’s something about this song that I can’t get out of my head. It is the most beautiful, brutal song.”

.

Coming Back to Life – Pink Floyd

“I listen to Pink Floyd all the time. These guys are so emotional and gut wrenching.”

.

Mistaken for Strangers – The National

“This song is amazing. I love their drum lines. Incredible.”

.

Love Will Tear Us Apart – Paul Young

“A wonderful version of Joy Division’s song. This is a must if you’ve never heard it. It’s from Paul’s genius album, No Parlez. I don’t know what happened. I thought he should have been a huge, huge star.”

.

Acadian Driftwood – Richard Shindell

“A beautiful cover of The Band’s song from Richard’s cover album, South of Delia. He also covers Peter Gabriel’s ‘Mercy Street’ which is brilliant.”

.

Golden Slumbers – The Beatles

“Unbelievable and perfect. How could this even happen? This is my favorite Beatles composition of all time.”
