Stephan Grondin’s playlist

Montreal’s big time DJ Stephan Grondin is opening for international superstar Kylie Minogue at the Bell Centre tomorrow. Saying that the man’s excited is an understatement.

“I’m beyond excited,” Stephan says. “And I can’t wait!”

The DJ has had a thrilling career since his first nightclub residency at the age of 17. Now at 43 Stephan spins on dance floors around the world from his residency at Montreal’s Stereo to his upcoming gig at the Paradise Festival in Hawaii.

Among the events in Stephan’s loaded tour itinerary, joining Kylie on her Aphrodite tour stop in Montreal is unquestionably the highlight.

“I’ve always been a fan. When I started out I was playing Kylie’s first singles and I also remixed ‘Slow,'” he remembers. “To be opening for her is a full circle moment.”

Here are five tunes that Stephan just can’t get outta his head.

.

Price Tag – Jessie J.

“I love this type of music and I don’t have the chance to play it often. I also love the message that she is sending out. Forget about the money and the bling. Make the world dance and be happy.”

.

Paparazzi – Lady Gaga

“This is simply Lady Gaga’s best song. I love the melody and the lyrics.”

.

Her Diamonds – Rob Thomas

“I love, love, love Rob Thomas. Again, I don’t have the chance to play this kind of music, so when I have the chance to listen to a great voice like Rob Thomas, I savor every song.”

.

September – Daughtry

“Such a beautiful song! Performed by an amazing artist that I have grown to love very much.”

F**ckin’ Perfect – Pink

“I love the originality of Pink’s lyrics. I love her rock edge way more than when she started out. You can tell she knows who she is (musically) now.”
