Watch for Glee’s Darren Criss in new killer role

Glee graduate Darren Criss and showrunner Ryan Murphy are accomplices once again.

Darren was cast as serial killer Andrew Cunanan in the second installment of Ryan’s true crime anthology series American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace.

The 10-episode order, which chases the success of the Emmy Award-winning first season, ACS: The People vs O.J. Simpson, will rehash the events surrounding the 1997 murder of the famous fashion designer.

American Crime Story marks Darren’s first series-regular gig since his breakout role as Blaine Anderson on Glee and follows his short stint on American Horror Story: Hotel, also created and produced by Ryan.

Now Darren is back in the fold and couldn’t be happier to work with the famed producer again.

Last summer, the star presented at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs and got to talking about American Crime Story backstage at the big event.

“I feel very honored,” Darren said in the press room. “Not to mention I get to hang out with Penelope Cruz, Ricky Martin and Edgar Ramirez.”

Finn Wittrock and Max Greenfield, who, like Darren, were previously seen in AHS: Hotel, complete the all-star cast.

To Darren, being part of this crew is not only a blessing, but a huge accomplishment.

“That’s kind of the dream,” he said. “To meet people who you admire and respect, [people who] make you a better person.”

American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace is set to air on FX Wednesday, January 17. Follow Darren on twitter and facebook for updates.
