Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez would like to thank…
ABC’s powerhouse series Modern Family won big at the Emmy Awards.
The smashing sitcom knocked out The Big Bang Theory, Louie, Orange is the New Black, Silicon Valley and Veep for the honor of Outstanding Comedy Series, making this its 5th consecutive win in the top category.
Sixteen-year-old Modern Family star Rico Rodriguez (who plays Manny Delgado) credits his family for passing on the funny genes that led to his success.
“I get it from my mom, my dad, and definitely my sister. She has a big personality,” he says.
The kid’s acting class also played a part. According to Rico, they were well worth the bucks.
“When I was younger I was really shy. I would hide behind my mom’s leg, I wouldn’t talk to anybody. When I first came out to California and started acting classes that’s when I broke out of my shell.”
