Billy Talent just celebrated the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut with a string of nationwide show dates dubbed A Return to the Roots Tour.

Now the guys are about to take the party to the next level and mark the milestone with a deluxe reissue of the Juno-winning album that started it all.

This is a chance for fans to get their hands on the original album and a second disc featuring demos, live concert recordings and rare in-studio versions of the songs that make up Billy Talent I.

“We’ve always tried to pride ourselves on writing the best music we can. Hopefully it moves people,” frontman Ben Kowalewicz says looking back at their catalog.

A 16-page visual also comes with the commemorative package, including an intro written by fellow Canadian punk pioneer, George Pettit of Alexisonfire.

The triple platinum album actually isn’t the only thing Billy Talent is celebrating right now. 2013 also marks the 20th year that the band has been together.

That’s right. Billy Talent was actually around for an entire decade (under the name Pezz) before they found mainstream success, but hey, no one’s really keeping count. You know what they say, you can’t rush excellence.

“Good food takes a long time to cook,” Ben says. “Unless it’s sushi.”

Billy Talent’s 2-disc anniversary edition album is available Tuesday, November 26

A special red & yellow vinyl edition will be made exclusively for indie stores in Canada on Friday, November 29.
