Allan Hyde’s playlist
True Blood fans didn’t know what bit them when Allan Hyde emerged as the vampire Godric in season 2.
The Danish actor instantly shifted from newcomer to fan-favorite after appearing in just four episodes in the 2009 run.
That’s not much of a shocker, Allan’s performance was mesmerizing, heartbreaking and one of the most memorable.
Even the True Blood writing crew can’t bury and forget the great Godric. Allan’s character continues to linger into season 5 and haunt Bon Temps badass Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).
Before joining the steamy cast of HBO’s hottest show, the Dane was barely a bleep on the Hollywood radar.
Back at home in Denmark, Allan has heaps of films and stage credits under his belt, but was low-profile until his portrayal of the 2000 year old blood sucker.
Now Allan has the western hemisphere thirsty for more, but is in no rush to satiate his fans. At 22, the guy has his entire career ahead of him and this is only the beginning.
Patience is a virtue and that’s the way Allan sees it, at least when it comes to music, something he likes to slowly sink his teeth in and savour.
“I like ‘deciding’ that I want to like some artists,” Allan says. “And then listen to their stuff until I absolutely love it.”
“I have always listened to a very eclectic mix of music,” he adds. “These are five songs from my most recent playlist.”
They Won’t Go When I Go – Stevie Wonder
All the Things That I’ve Done – The Killers
Boondigga – Fat Freddy’s Drop
A Long Walk (Live) – Jill Scott
It’s Gonna Rain – Take 6
