Ed Sheeran’s playlist
Forget Prince Harry and the rest of the Royals. Ed Sheeran is Canada’s favorite Brit.
The UK superstar’s latest album, No.6 Collaborations Project, is nominated for International Album of the Year at the 2020 JUNO Awards.
The album, which includes the No. 1 single “I Don’t Care” featuring Justin Bieber, peeked at No.1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart and is certified double platinum (while Ed’s hit tune with the Biebs is 6x platinum).
The nation clearly has the hots for the guy, and guess what Canada? Ed loves you right back.
“Canada is a very special country for me,” Ed says. “Canada was one of the first places outside of the UK to accept me.”
Speaking of a warm welcome, Ed recalls performing in Montreal as the supporting act for Snow Patrol back in 2012 and to this day, the ovation he received still blows his mind.
“I remember walking out on stage and the reception I got… I never got that for being an opener, let alone a headliner,” he swoons.
To highlight Ed’s JUNO nomination, here is a playlist of tracks by the superstar’s two favorite Canadian recording artists: fellow 2020 JUNO nominee Avril Lavigne and multi-JUNO Award winner Drake.
