Heathers’ playlist
When Louise Macnamara was ready to start writing music and form a band, she didn’t have to look further than the bedroom across the hall.
“I remember Louise just came in with her guitar and a melody she wrote,” says her twin sister, Ellie.
One song quickly turned into two and then four.
“It just happened so quickly and naturally,” Ellie adds.
“We wrote a few more songs, put them up on the net and it took off from there.”
The Dublin girls were barely 17 at the time. Now, 23 and known to the world as Heathers, the duo is touring the globe in support of their second album, Kingdom.
“People are messaging us from Canada and around the world asking us to come play our music,” Louise smiles. “It’s really exciting to be able to do that, to meet these people and spread our music.”
While touring Canada, the twins made a playlist of a few of their favorite tunes.
.
I Was a Fool – Tegan and Sara
“I listened to the album through a couple of times and then played this song on repeat for days. I think it’s incredible. They are such good songwriters. Fantastic.” -Ellie

Get Myself Together – Robyn
“It’s such an upbeat song. I love to dance around my kitchen and sing to it at the top of my lungs when no one is watching.” -Louise
.
Casimir Pulaski Day – Sufjan Stephens

Don’t Save Me – Haim
“Haim is absolutely incredible. This song in particular is really, really good. I recommend it, and check out the video for ‘Fallen.’ It’s brilliant.” -Louise
