Luke Doucet’s playlist
Husband and wife singer-songwriters Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet just took their relationship to another level.
The praised pair unite as the new duo, Whitehorse, and are releasing their self-titled debut on August 30.
If their solo efforts are any indication of what they have in store for us, this union will be the most raved about Canadian musical act this year.
“I don’t ever pretend to know what other people are going to think or feel,” Luke says. “But I am grateful for all the success.”
Luke is very well acquainted with success and the first half of 2011 is a strapping example.
Five months ago Luke’s sixth album, Steel City Trawler, was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 40th Annual Juno Awards. The same studio recording recently made the 2011 Polaris Music Prize Long List.
Congratulations Luke!
Here are five songs that made it on Luke’s personal short list.
