Tyler Posey’s playlist
Tyler Posey is no stranger to the awards show circuit specifically the Teen Choice Awards.
Last year the Teen Wolf stud co-hosted the live event with Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and had a much-talked about reunion with his Maid in Manhattan costar Jennifer Lopez.
This year Tyler returns to the TCAs with the hope to leave with the Choice Summer TV Star: Male award for his lead role in Teen Wolf.
The MTV series is also nominated for Choice Summer TV Show giving Tyler even more reason to be proud.
“Especially this season because I’m a co-producer,” Tyler boasts.
The latest chapter of the supernatural saga marks the first time Tyler officially joins a production team, but also stands out for a couple other reasons.
“There are some supernatural creatures that change the rules and completely turn our world upside down. Everything goes to hell in Teen Wolf fashion,” he reveals.
Season 5 also tows the limit and goes somewhere the previous installments have not.
“This season is by far the goriest we’ve ever had. It’s very dark, but there is so much gross stuff that happens. It’s going to be hard to watch for some people. It’s really gnarly. We’ve had some gross stuff in the past, we’ve cut bodies in half and the guts have fallen out, we’ve cut heads off, but this by far is the goriest. It’s another great season of Teen Wolf.”
Two episodes of the first half of the two-part 20-episode season remain to be aired and the crew is wrapping up the second half which commenced filming in mid June.
Between shoots and public appearances, the little time that Tyler has off is filled with music.
“I’m a huge pop-punk guy,” he says of his go-to music selection. “I have two tattoos that are Blink 182 tattoos. Punk, Warped Tour and all of that is just my heart and my core.”
State Champs and Neck Deep are among Tyler’s favorite bands, but his main squeeze and act of the hour is a 5-man show from Walnut Creek, California.
“The Story So Far just came out with a self-titled album and it is so damn good. That’s my summer jam. They’re just incredible. You should check them out.”
Here’s what the track listing of that album looks like.
Smile
Heavy Gloom
Distaste
