Buffy vet Eliza Dushku cast in CBS series Bull
Eliza Dushku is joining the cast of the CBS series Bull.
The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star signed on for a three-episode arc with the possibility of being promoted to series regular in Bull’s newly ordered second season.
Eliza steps into the picture as J.P. Nunnelly, the sly and sharp head of the leading criminal defense firm in New York.
Dr. Jason Bull, played by NCIS alum Michael Weatherly, hires Nunnelly after a member of his Trial Analysis Corporation team is thrown in the slammer.
This is Eliza’s official return to prime time since she was last seen in the final season of Banshee which wrapped up in May last year.
Famous for her vampire slayer duties on Buffy and its spin-off series Angel, Eliza is also known for playing dramatic roles in Dollhouse, Tru Calling and Wrong Turn and comedic parts in Bring It On, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Big Bang Theory, That ’70s Show and King of the Hill.
Running as far back as 1992, Eliza’s resume is one part drama, one part comedy, and that is just the way she likes it.
“When you’re doing a dramatic role, you’re like, ‘Oh my God, I would kill for a joke or a laugh right now,’” Eliza says. “Then when you’re on a comedy, you’re like, ‘This is going to be career suicide. No one is going to take me seriously.’ So I try to jump back and forth.”
Now that Eliza has joined CBS’ legal dramedy, she is sure to get the best of both worlds.
Watch for Eliza in three episodes of Bull beginning Tuesday, May 9 on CBS. To keep up the star’s upcoming projects follow her on twitter and facebook.
