Gillian Anderson will satisfy hungry Hannibal fans

After rousing the appetites of Hannibal fans, Gillian Anderson is ready to serve up the goods.

The X-Files vet, who was a sporadic guest star on Bryan Fuller’s TV adaptation throughout seasons one and two, is set to reprise her role as Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, but on a full time basis.

“It’s really awesome to be Hannibal’s psychiatrist,” Gillian says of the part.

Gillian joins show regulars Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Mads Mikkelsen and a fine selection of guest stars including True Blood’s Rutina Wesley, making up one delicious cast for season three.

“All the actors are extraordinary and Bryan Fuller’s amazing and so talented,” Gillian says. “I’m really pleased that they asked me. It’s a pretty cool gig.”

Hannibal returns to NBC on Thursday, June 4.
