Shawn Mendes nominated for most wanted Juno Award of all

Eighteen-time Juno Award nominee Shawn Mendes leads this year’s hopeful winners with 6 nominations including Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for his hit “In My Blood” and Album of the Year for his self-titled album.

The international chart-topping singer from Pickering, Ontario is also in the running for the most desired prize of them all: the Juno Fan Choice.

Standing out from the stack of trophies rewarding Canadian talent for their grand achievements, the Juno Fan Choice is the only award which the recipient is voted on by the public.

There are three ways to vote:

1) Visit JunoFanChoice.ca and simply click on your favorite artist.

2) On Twitter or Instagram use the official Juno Fan Choice hashtag (#JFC) followed by the artist’s name. For example a vote for Shawn would be: #JFCShawnMendes. Fans can also use Facebook to cast their vote by commenting on any post on the Juno Awards Facebook Page using the hashtag and the artist’s name.

3) Vote by listening to your favorite artist on the official Juno Fan Choice playlist on Apple Music. Every song played for over 30 seconds counts as one vote.

For the honor, Shawn is up against 9 fellow Canadians including superstars Alessia Cara, Avril Lavigne and The Weeknd.

Should Shawn win, this will be his third Juno Fan Choice award in three consecutive years.

“I’m on Twitter all the time. I saw my fans voting like crazy,” Shawn says thinking back on his previous wins. “When I win an award like this, we did it together. It can’t get any better than this.”

We’ll see if Shawn’s fans (aka the Mendes Army) come through for the star again.
