Shawn Mendes loves to hear you scream

Want to get Shawn’s pulse racing? Scream his name. Do it loud and don’t hold back.

The Canadian heartthrob, currently touring the world in support of his No.1 hit album Illuminate, is all about the screams.

“That’s what makes the shows awesome,” Shawn says. “That’s what gives me the energy to be soulful and reach that threshold, the energy from the fans.”

Concert-goers have been yelling Shawn’s name in sold out arenas around the world since the superstar kicked off his Illuminate World Tour in April.

Among Shawn’s many shows, his recent gig at Montreal’s Bell Centre stands out as the wildest audience he’s performed for yet.

“Montreal, you are by far the loudest crowd of my life,” he told the packed arena.

At times the thundering fans even drowned out his music. And that’s just the way Shawn likes it.

“I think I would hate to play a show if there were no screams,” he says.

There’s no need for Shawn to imagine what that situation would be like. His public seems to keep up on how to please him. Shawn’s roaring fans in Montreal certainly know what it takes and Shawn took to Twitter to thank them.
